Nicole Vanden Broeck is a French-Mexican filmmaker born in Mexico. She holds an MFA in Directing from AFI Conservatory and has been recognized as a BAFTA Newcomer, selected for the TFT Program presented by HBO and HFPA, and featured on the LatinX Directors list.
Her work has screened at over 60 film festivals globally, including AFI Fest, Curtas Vila do Conde IFF, Out on Film, Women in Film & TV, NALIP Latino Media Fest. Her thesis film ELLE (2020) premiered at the Rhode Island International Film Festival and won the Grand Prize Marlyn Mason Award.
Before moving to Los Angeles, Nicole co-founded 6pm Films in Mexico City, where she directed narrative, documentary, and commercial projects. Her documentary WITHIN TIME (2017) won the ECOFILM Festival Grand Prize and Hola Mexico Film Festival Cinelatino Audience Award. She is currently developing her debut feature film THE SOUND OF FIREWORKS with Cine Qua Non Lab's support.
