Mragendra, born in Bhopal, India, became an engineer to please his parents but later pursued filmmaking after disappointing them. Feeling like an outsider in both his hometown and Los Angeles, he developed into an observer with a broad world view and empathetic lens. His first feature film, NORMAL, premiered at the Los Angeles Asian Pacific Film Festival, garnering awards and nominations internationally and domestically.
