Laramie Dennis

I debuted as a director at 16 with an autobiographical stage show in pre-tech San Francisco. I spent 10 years in New York directing new plays, notably at Flea Theater and Soho Rep. Now in Los Angeles, I focus on film, applying my theater experience. My approach involves close collaboration with actors and cinematographer to achieve emotional realism.

My first film as a writer-director is Where in the Hell, a comedy in a post-apocalyptic setting. My project, Life on sMars, inspired by a NASA experiment, secured me participation in THROUGH HER LENS and a grant from The Tribeca Film Institute. It also made me a finalist for the TFI Sloan Filmmaker Fund, SFFILM Sloan Fellowship, and Women in Film Production Program. My shorts have been screened globally and distributed by Boyish, Shorts International, and Sprint. I also serve as a union script supervisor for films and TV.
